The information, advice, and articles I found with regard to the usefulness of digital opportunities have been abundant and quite relevant to my topic of interest. It was evident that all resource found such as tutorial, electronic message, website, promotional videos, and documents are based on an inclusive teaching model which reinforces the fact that adequate and diversified digital resources must be available in all learning environments and therefore, in my school LC.   By browsing through the selected Blog posts and Library ListServ archives, I realized that the subject of ebooks and audiobooks is a “hot” topic and one of concern to many TLs. They understand their benefits, they want them but many still hesitate to take the big step due to financial limitation. On that note, I would have liked to look for further free of cost possibilities starting with those of our local library, the Vancouver Public Library. I have a vision of what I want to accomplish at the school library and this vision is definitely based on an inclusive model which is an educational model that includes ALL students. The pupil population at my school is very diversified with a high percentage of ELL students and a few students with learning disabilities: dyslexia, ADHD, auditory limitation, and one student with severe motor and intellectual disabilities. Moreover, as more than half of the school enrolment is in the French Immersion program, French eBooks with audio and speech-to-text options would be very appreciated by many students who struggle with the French vocabulary. And unfortunately, the current resources of the school library might not meet all required needs of those students. Some background info first. I have been a Teacher-Librarian for just over a year. The bulk of my career has been spent in classrooms, mostly teaching the French Immersion program to students from Grade 1 to Grade 7. Since the beginning, I've always been trying to find ways to interest students in learning which made me one of those teachers who always reinvents already made up resources and leaves the school last. However, my passion for teaching made it all worth it. I was also extremely fortunate to have worked for many years with a colleague who understood early on that true learning comes with engaging activities. He taught me that students get excited and motivated to learn when they figure out on their own, when they choose how they will present their findings to others, when they have opportunities to be creative, when they learn through trial and error.
